Details: IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide, we are currently seeking a Quality Lab Supervisor to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Kankakee, IL plant. This plant produces premium roofing shingles in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environmentThis individual will manage, initiate, and implement the QA program. Working closely with our production department will be essential in producing a quality shingle that conforms to our specifications. This person will constantly monitor, improve, analyze the product and data to ensure improvements are implemented. Coordination of activities between other departments is necessary to maximize the productivity and effectiveness of our program. Supervision of the Quality Lab and its crew is just one of the many duties involved in this position. On a daily, weekly and monthly basis monitoring of operations, parameters, test results, data, technicians, and performance is crucial, while maintaining a safe working environment.Laboratory equipment needs to be maintained and calibrated following county, state and federal regulations and must be kept clean and orderly at all times.This position required a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field along with 5 years QA laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment. Direct supervision of the laboratory technicians will keep us in accordance with our policies and applicable laws. Your computer skills should include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as reports are a necessary part of this position.Moving up to 10 pounds will be normal and occasionally you will need to be able to lift 80 pounds. Also. the ability to climb ladders and withstand elevations of 175 feet is essential in this position.We are considered to be a heavy manufacturing environment, with exposure to hot humid conditions in the summer, cold conditions in winter months, with dust and high noise volume.
