Details: Classification:  Attorney-licensed II 4-9 yrs exp Compensation:  $140,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year CORPORATE COUNSEL, ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE FOR MAJOR PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY is needed asap for a global health-care company that assists health care professionals and their patients with the treatment of complex medical conditions. The Company, which is headquartered in the Northern Suburbs has expertise in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. The Position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Vice President Ethics and Compliance and does the following: The position will serve as Corporate Counsel managing and overseeing the Ethics and Compliance Program for a complex, multinational, and heavily regulated healthcare company. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping ensure that the Ethics and Compliance Program provides employees with clear policies, first-rate education and counseling, and efficient systems so that they may achieve their business goals consistent with the law and standards. This attorney will ultimately ensure that the company has an effective ethics and compliance program. Additional duties include the following: Working with the corporate team in the establishment and implementation of global, regional, and local standards, procedures, and policies designed to prevent and detect conduct inconsistent with Baxter policy and the law; Developing a regional communication plan to raise awareness of policies and practices so that employees and business units operate in compliance with Company policy and law; Identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and developing corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues; Developing, delivering, and overseeing training relating to ethics and compliance initiatives and Company policies; Ensuring that ethics and compliance issues and concerns within the region are being raised and appropriately evaluated, investigated, resolved; and ensuring that, if necessary, appropriate disciplinary action is taken and control enhancements are implemented; Holding events to actively maintain, communicate and expand the visibility of the regional compliance program and achievements; Establishing effective systems for monitoring, auditing, and measuring the effectiveness of the Ethics and Compliance Program in order to identify successes as well as areas for further improvement; Designing and implementing a system of appropriate incentives to encourage employee behavior that will comply with the relevant standards; Creating and leading cross-functional teams, including representatives from areas including but not limited to legal human resources, internal audit, risk management, information technology, communications, environmental, health and safety and Government Affairs; Developing external contacts and participating in professional organizations that will provide benchmarks for the Ethics and Compliance Program and enhance the understanding of the external environment in which company operates in order to anticipate new trends; Performing special assignments or projects as assigned.
