Details: ScopeCandidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining quality specifications and procedures for paper manufacturing, coating and converting processes. They will also make decisions regarding final product quality impacting the customer, as well as, recommend corrective actions to operational supervision concerning off-quality product.Accountabilities• Directly supervise the quality control lab inspectors throughout Ohio Operations, including training, scheduling, and issue resolution; • Establish and maintain standards, tolerances, and testing procedures for all grades produced in the operation. Use lean tools to determine process capability to meet customer specifications for new orders or grades; • Make final determination of paper quality to assure that it meets customer specifications. Review production data adherence to customer specifications; • Provide accurate quality information and recommendations concerning various paper grades to operational supervision. Create quality reports to support mill-wide quality or yield initiatives. Recommend ways to improve product quality or procedures; • Maintain liaison with sales, field services, production planning, and customers concerning product performance criteria. Review customer complaints to determine root cause and justification. Visit customer locations for issue resolution or new product trial support; • Help manage department budget and expenditures. Provide support for capital requests for new equipment justification. Participate in area cost-out or continuous improvement initiatives; • Provide leadership in troubleshooting and preventing quality upsets that lead to significant yield losses or customer claims.
