Details: Telecommute: Experience: 7 - 9 years Degree: BA Compensation: Lead Test Engineer Our large Energy client in St. Petersburg, FL is looking for a Lead Test Engineer for an 18-month contract. This position is responsible for design, construction, implementation and execution of all testing for Smart Grid Next Generation Demand Response Integration and Interoperability component of the Energy client’s Smart Grid initiative. Responsibilities: • Prepare specifications and oversee development and management of the test environment(s).• Develop and execute test plan strategies for complex integrated systems utilizing the Silver Spring Networks Utility IQ, Load Control Management Software, and Direct Load Control Switches.• Provide validation and traceability that stated requirements and specifications are validated in tests and test results in HPQC. Devise tests for adequate test coverage to ensure reliability. Maintain schedule of events for test execution.• Write Test Cases and detailed test steps and input them into HPQC from existing requirements.• Create Comprehensive and Detailed test plans and procedures from specification and design documents.• Design tests beyond simple functional verification to include end to end, system performance, regression, boundary, field and negative testing.• Analyze and report test failures to appropriate level of detail for defect submission and test results remediation• Verify resolution of resolved defects and participate in root cause analysis of reported defects• Participate in documentation and test procedure reviews. Retain and maintain all test records, logs and certificate documents• Interface with and review the work products of testing participants for technical content and conformance• Interpret and present test results / metrics to project team in an effective manner• Provide input into test schedule activity development including activity duration and resource requirements. Required skills: • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-yr. college/university and 7-9 years’ experience.• 35% Schedule and oversee test execution; compilation of results and perform test assurance activities for verifying results and traceability to requirements. • 20% Define test strategies and develop test plans. Communicate to management and affected organizations.• 25% Analyze and report test failures to appropriate level of detail for defect submission. Work with work stream leads (change management, risk management) to ensure proper traceability and reporting is executed for all remediation required.• 20% manage the test environments. Ensure test environments and conditions are such that testing and test results are reliable and not corrupted by external factors. Perform periodic inspection of test environmentsconditions. Develop procedures for testing and test environments. Perform verification that these are being executed properly.• Demonstrated project test experience.• Demonstrated test script/scenario/case development.• Demonstrated understanding of Unit, Functional, System, Performance, Technical, Operational testing and the tools utilized.• Must have a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.• Familiarity with system architecture and database analysis.• Good communication and writing skills and experience preparing and presenting reports to multiple levels of management. Preferred Qualifications: • Demonstrated electric utility project experience. Specific areas of expertise include: Demand Response and Direct Load Control Switches, Silver Spring Networks deployment experience, AMI/MDMS Field Deployments, Telecom Wireless Mesh, Point to Multipoint, Networking, and CMMI & SDLC methodologies.• Familiarity with NIST and related interoperability standards.
