This individual will design test station environments, including test equipment components, associated interface drivers, test data acquisition and reduction GUIs, test databases, customized software, peripheral control of real time capture equipment through various interfaces, and accompanying hardware/software regression test scenarios. The systems under test are custom high-value space instruments and control software whose designs are diverse, complex, and highly configurable. This individual will work within a team in a fast paced environment, interface with program management and the customer, and enjoy an open, creative, and flexible work environment which calls on multiple skills. The ideal candidate will be multidisciplinary, a proactive self starter, enthusiastic, a good communicator and problem solver, and prefers to work in a team. Candidate must have at least a Bachelors degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline and 5+ years relevant experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES / CAPABILITIES:•Understand and troubleshoot basic electronics circuits.•Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multi meters, volt meters, signal analyzers, logic analyzers, etc.•Develop software modules and IP for test, diagnostic, analysis, or acquisition systems.•Very comfortable with software languages such as; assembler, C, C++, C#, .NET platform, RAILS, IDL, Matlab, Python, Perl, Labview•Provide prompt, accurate, and technical assessments for program management support, customer assistance, and marketing support.•Develop project documentation in accordance with applicable quality and configuration/change management process•Ability to take ownership of the software design.•Due to U.S. Government export controls imposed on the hardware and technology to which this position will have access, U.S. citizen with a DoD Security Clearance is required.DESIRED CAPABILITIES:•Experience with mixed signal circuitry (A/D, DAC, power supplies)•Experience with Flight Quality Testing, Design of Hardware or Software for flight•Experience with FPGA firmware•Experience with databases and data repositories•Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9000
